Today, I am starting my blog for my travels to Spain and other countries. As most of you know, I will be an au pair for a year with a lovely family: Angel, Belen, Carla and Hector Esteban. They live in Barcelona, Spain and are kindly sharing their home, culture and family with me. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone except for this family, so the whole friend making process may be a little bit difficult. After my year in Spain, I plan on attending FSU unless there is any change with that considering I virtually have another school year to decide on what schools I want to attend even though I just did that last year.
Anyway, this blog will serve as a way for me to update anyone who is interested in my travels instead of badgering all of my facebook/twitter/instagram friends with my constant posts of pictures and statuses about everything I am doing. Of course I will still post on those social media outlets, but I will make sure to explain my journeys more through this blog.
The first big news I have to share is that yesterday, I received my visa! Those of you who didn't know, the process was woeful and it was probably the most stressful part of this whole trip. And quite frankly, the people who were supposed to be assisting me at the Spanish Consulate were not the nicest people I have ever met and made the whole process even harder. But that's behind me now. I have my visa, and I am just about ready to go. All that's really left is a whole bunch of packing, good-byes, and tears. Stay tuned, folks. In about a week, the games will begin.
